Book digitized by Google from the library of Harvard University and uploaded to the Internet Archive by user tpb. 11 volumes 19 cm Vol. 1-3, 1851, v. 4-7, 9, 11, 1852-56, apparently the first edition by Hudson; v. 8, 1858, v. 10, 1859, are reissues; v. 11, containing life, history of drama, and Poems "In size of volume, in type, and style of execution" follows the Chiswick edition of 1826, reproducing even the woodcuts. But the text and notes (Singer's)--have been revised, the long introductions are founded mainly on the editor's "Lectures of Shakspeare", published in 1848 v. 1 Editor's preface; Didication; Commendatory verses; Tempest; Two gentlemen of Verona; Merry wives of Windsor; Twelfth night.--v. 2 Measure for measure; Much ado about nothing; Midsummer-night's dream; Love's labour's lost.--v. 3 Merchant of Venice; As you like it; All's well that ends well; Taming of the shrew.--v. 4 Winter's tale; Comedy of errors; Macbeth; King John.--v. 5 King Richard II; King Henry IV; King Henry V.--v. 6 King Henry VI.--v. 7 King Richard III; King Henry VIII; Troilus and Cressida.--v. 8 Timon of Athens; Coriolanus; Julius Cæsar; Anthony and Cleopatra.--v. 9 Cymbeline; Titus Andronicus; Pericles; King Lear.--v. 10 Romeo and Juliet; Hamlet; Othello.--v. 11 Life of Shakespeare; History of the drama; Poems
