Our Common Land (and Other Short Essays)
Our Common Land (and Other Short Essays) is a collection of essays by Octavia Hill, written in the late 19th century. The essays examine social issues related to public spaces, charity, and the urban poor, particularly in London. Hill emphasizes the significance of open spaces for the well-being of individuals living in crowded conditions and critiques the shortcomings of contemporary charitable practices. This work highlights the intersection of land tenure and social reform in Great Britain.
