Tuhat ja yksi yötä, first published in 1922, is a collection of Middle Eastern folktales that features the narrative of Scheherazade, who tells stories to delay her execution by Sultan Shah-Riar. The tales include adventures of characters such as Sinbad and Aladdin, weaving themes of wisdom, fate, and morality. This compilation showcases the rich storytelling tradition of Arab culture, with roots tracing back to the 8th century, and has been recognized for its significant contribution to children's literature, being selected for the IBBY Honor List in 2012. The book has been translated into Finnish by Jaakko Hämeen-Anttila, with illustrations by Heli Hieta.
