The Wolf Hunters: A Story of the Buffalo Plains
The Kansas plains in winter are a killing ground. Three former soldiers, Robert Peck, Tom Vance, and Jack Flanagan, know this, but profit is a powerful motivator: wolf pelts command high prices in the East, and the buffalo range during the Civil War offers both fortune and peril. What begins as a straightforward hunting expedition becomes a fight for survival against brutal cold, dwindling supplies, and hostile encounters in a landscape where every stranger could be a threat, and help is weeks away. For readers who love classic adventure tales, frontier history, and stories of men against nature at its most unforgiving, this novel delivers the raw excitement of the American West when buffalo still numbered in the millions and the plains belonged to no one.
