The Red Man's Rebuke

The Red Man's Rebuke, written by Simon Pokagon in 1893, is a historical manifesto that addresses the grievances of the Pottawattamie tribe against colonization and the injustices they endured. Through passionate language, Pokagon critiques the colonial attitudes of settlers and highlights the loss of Native American lands and culture. This work is notable for its direct confrontation of the treatment of Indigenous peoples in the United States and serves as an important document in the discourse on Native American rights and government relations.
