The President's Daughter

The President's Daughter, published in 1927 by Nan Britton, is an autobiographical account detailing her relationship with President Warren G. Harding and the birth of their illegitimate daughter, Elizabeth Ann. The narrative explores the complexities of their love, the societal stigma surrounding their child, and Britton's advocacy for recognition of unmarried parents. This memoir not only provides a personal glimpse into the life of a woman intertwined with a U.S. president but also highlights the challenges faced by those in unconventional relationships during the early 20th century.
