The Hymnology Of The Scottish Reformation

This text combines parts I through IV of The Hymnology of the Scottish Reformation  by noted Scottish church historian David Hay Fleming. It was originally published in volume 16 of The Original Secession Magazine  (1883-1884) by James Gemmell in Edinburgh. Fleming responded to the arguments of his contemporary Horatius Bonar who argued that the Scottish Church had historically allowed uninspired hymns to be sung in worship.
