Anonymous. By Edmund Powlett. "Although this guide is sometimes attributed to 'R. and J. Dodsley', a British Library copy of the 1761 edition is annotated 'E. Powlett'. In the British Library Catalogue there is an annotation against a second copy of the 1761 guide (press mark c.142.cc.19) which states that inserted in it, among other things, was '... a MS. copy of the agreement between the author and James Dodsley, the publisher'. It would appear that this is the source of the attribution of authorship to Powlett by a now unknown but knowledgeable cataloguer. (Information by Janet Koss" [In R.G.W. Anderson ...
