Cut out plaque on wooden album cover has text: Souvenir of the reception tendered to President William H. Taft by the Union League Club, San Francisco, October 5th 1909. Includes club logo, coat of arms, flags symbolic of the presidency and the state Album in velvet-lined wooden box 40 x 55 cm Platinum prints totalling 82, sometimes two or more mounted on the recto of a leaf with hand-inscribed caption facing on verso of previous leaf. Enlargement (29 cm. diameter and signed Dassonville) of medal presented to the people of San Francisco by the French Republic on verso of t.p. and leaf following, and reproduction of an engraving of the city in 1849 precede the views of the fire-gutted and rebuilt city which make up the collection. Several miscellaneous city attractions and public monuments are also included. Prints vary in size from 16 x 11 cm. to 17 x 38 cm. and 22.5 x 19 cm
