They are within ornamental frames of strapwork, allegories, putti, etc. Ten of the frames are empty and contain no ports. T.p. within a similar ornamental border. Giovio's port. on a2v. Decorated and historiated initials, including a few after Hans Holbein (e.g. that on p. 185); see Hollstein. The historiation of the D on p. 277 is upside down vis-à-vis the letter Includes indexes Andresen, A. Deutsche Peintre-Graveur Hollstein German Binding, c. 1: later tan decorated paper, quarter leather incorporating earlier backstrip. Paper spine label: P.
