Notes on Noses

Published in 1848 under the pseudonym Eden Warwick, 'Notes on Noses' is a satirical work by solicitor George Jabet that parodies phrenology. The book introduces a mock-scientific classification system categorizing noses into six types, each purportedly reflecting the character and temperament of their owners. Originally titled 'Nasology,' it critiques contemporary scientific thought while providing humorous analyses of noses across genders and nationalities, making it a notable example of 19th-century satire.
