Nance O' Neil - Her Travels And Her Art

Article by Helen Fitzgerald Sanders on the stage and screen actress Nance O'Neil's work and travels (particularly, her international theatrical tours from 1900-1906, including information on which plays were performed by the company). From the August-December 1906 issue of "Overland Monthly: an illustrated magazine of the west." Volume XLVIII. Features several photos of O'Neil, her residences, her pets, and her Japanese maid Tolo. Includes photos of O'Neil on the property of her Tyngsboro, Massachusetts residence which she reportedly purchased in 1904, listed for sale in 1907, and successfully sold the property to the Sisters of Notre Dame on October 24, 1908 (Lowell Annals, 1905-1917). There are not many surviving photos from this property, likely because it was never a primary residence and rather a vacation home she retreated to in between touring contracts.
