Kernel Cob and Little Miss Sweetclover

Kernel Cob and Little Miss Sweetclover

Kernel Cob and Little Miss Sweetclover

George Mitchell

Jackie and his sister Peggs yearn for companions and make two dolls from what grows around them -- sweetclover and corn cob. But, a gust of wind whisks them away launching them on far ranging of adventures. There is the sea horse, crickets, a giant condor, polar bears and more. Across they go to Japan, India, Africa and the ends of the earth. Of course, there is a surprise at the end. The author treats us to a whimsical and imaginative story filled with adventure with values of friendship and courage, as in this rhyme: If you attempt a noble deed You're almost certain to succeed, So do not give up hope, but try, However rough your path may lie, To forge ahead with all your might And everything will come out right. - Summary by Larry Wilson
