Added title page (page [1], 2nd sequence): Caroli Sigonii mutinensis in fastos consulares, ac triumphos Romanos, commentarius, ab autore nunc recens recognitus & auctus On title page, place of publication and date precede publisher statement Signatures: a-źœ A-Ĺœ Ḿı N-Óœ Title page vignette (printer's device); initials "Caroli Sigonii de nominibus Romanorum liber": p. 356-388; "Index rerum et uocum memorabilium in commentario fastorum & triumphorum Ro. explicatarum, alphabeti ordine conscriptus": p. [389]-[411] Adams BM STC German, 1455-1600 Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in ca. mid-16th-century tawed pigskin quadruple-panelled in blind. The two outer panels contain potrait roll stamps, the innermost of which contains a "spes, fides, charitas" motif. In the "fides" tool, which shows a woman holding a shovel, a small mark -- "PTR" or "PIR", possibly being that of the binder -- is present. Another stamp shows the initials "BH" and the third the date of 1546. The title is inscribed at the head of the spine in an early hand. "PF9" is painted on at the tail of the spine. Several early Latin inscriptions are present on the front pastedown, at least one of which is dated 1561. The first reads, "Christophorus Guilielmo Bucio Aenicola possidet hunc librum. Comparito Ingolstadii." The other three, all in Latin, appear to be bio-bioliographical in nature. The perforation stamp of the Library is present on the title page and a different mark has been excised from the bottom of the page. This item is the first of two bound together in one volume. This volume contains [1]: Fasti consulares, ac triumphi acti a Romulo rege usque ad Ti. Caesarem / Carlo Sigonio -- [2]: De antiquitate urbis Patavi / Bernardino Scardeone
