It has marbled boards and a gilded spine raised on 5 bars. It contains a manuscript ex libris of Antonio Alfredo Giarraputo, dated April 28, 1950. There are cropped marginalia on the first p. 2. The present work is largely based on materials provided to Samuel Ireland by Thomas Caldecott, criticizing Malone’s methodologies. The Dictionary of National Biography suggests that Caldecott may have written part of this work. See also ESTC, T146503.
