1921 01 US Tennessee Historical Magazine Vol. 6, No. 4

Published from 1915 to 1937, the  Tennessee Historical Magazine (THM) appeared four times a year. The articles covered all aspects of Tennessee history, from first European contact to the early 20th century, and all regions of the state, while books reviews covered the latest publications on Tennessee history and related topics. The journal also often included edited primary documents. Articles were reviewed by scholarly experts before publication, ensuring that the finest articles on Tennessee appear in the THM. The Tennessee Historical Society was established in 1849. The private, not-for-profit organization and its collections originated with the Nashville Museum (1818) and Tennessee Antiquarian Society (1820-1822), which the THS succeeded. The collections of the THS are held in trust at the Tennessee State Library and Archives and the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville, where they are available to the public. Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of all aspects of Tennessee history, the THS now focuses on publishing new research and on education in Tennessee history.
