Kipps
Arthur "Artie" Kipps, an illegitimate orphan from the sleepy English coast, finds his humble draper's apprenticeship upended by an unexpected inheritance. Suddenly flush with cash and a house, Kipps grapples with the bewildering labyrinth of Edwardian society, where his newfound wealth clashes with his working-class roots and his lingering affection for childhood sweetheart Ann Pornick. From the boisterous camaraderie of his fellow apprentices to the bewildering etiquette of the upper crust, Kipps’ journey is a charmingly awkward navigation of class mobility and the search for belonging in a world not quite ready for him.
