Tan card stock envelope with the pocket folded over with a flap that is tied with a brown string. On the front of the envelope, in black ink cursive, it says: "Estate of Frederick Sherman; William A. Sherman Executor." The envelope shows wearing and discoloration along the edges. There are also wrinkles and small tears. Size of envelope: 4.25" x 10" Size of envelope unfolded: 8.25" x 10" Inside the pocket were the following documents: 1. There is a card the size of a modern day business card that is extremely fragile and in very poor condition. There are many tears and wrinkles which also make the card difficult to read in places. The right side of the card shows a man with a mustache in sepia tones. The left side of the card lists the man's physical attributes such as weight and height. In the center of the card is a stamp, or seal, that says, "District of Oregon: Collector of Customs." There are letters on the other side of the seal, but they cannot be read. The man's signature is also on the bottom of the card; his first name is Henry, but unfortunately his last name is indecipherable. Size of card: 2.5" x 5" 2. Next is a "Warranty Deed" from Mary and William B. Adair to Henry Sherman. It was witnessed by the County Clerk and a deputy. Paper shows many spots and discoloration along the folds and edges. Size when folded into "brochure" size: 3.5" x 8.75" Size when fully opened: 8.75" x 14" 3. There is a smaller piece of paper with typed writing that is 5" x 8." It is a bank note that states how much money was borrowed by the Shermans as witnessed by C. W. Fulton. 4. Next is a Quit-Claim Deed from Frank Patton to Frederick and William A. Sherman in 1901, followed by another Quit-Claim Deed from J.T. Higgins to Fred Sherman in 1906. Size when folded as brochure: 3.5" x 8.5" Size when opened fully: 8.5" x 14"
