Naturewoman
Naturewoman is a play by Upton Sinclair, published in 1912 as part of his collection Plays of Protest. The story revolves around Anna, who prefers to be called Oceana, a free-spirited woman raised on a tropical island, as she visits her conservative Bostonian relatives following her grandfather's death. Her unconventional views on dress, romance, and entertainment create tension with her family, especially when she attracts the attention of a married man. The play reflects Sinclair's progressive ideals and was inspired by the character of 'Nature Man' from Jack London's The Cruise of the Snark.
