Imaginary Invalid
The Imaginary Invalid (French: Le Malade imaginaire) is a three-act comédie-ballet by French playwright Molière, first performed in 1673. This work is notable as Molière's final play, written shortly before his death, which occurred during a performance of the same piece. The story follows Argan, a hypochondriac who believes he is seriously ill, and explores themes of deception, love, and the absurdity of medical practices of the time.
