Sophia Jex-Blake

Sophia Louisa Jex-Blake was a pioneering English physician and a prominent advocate for women's rights in education and medicine. Born in 1840, she embarked on her medical studies at the University of Edinburgh in 1869, becoming one of the first women to do so. Her determination and activism were instrumental in the campaign for women's access to higher education, challenging the societal norms of her time.
