Backward Spring
Backward Spring is a poem by Thomas Hardy, who is primarily known for his novels but regarded himself as a poet. Although he published his first poetry collection in 1898, Hardy wrote poetry throughout his life. This poem reflects his unique perspective on the changing seasons and the passage of time. Hardy's work has influenced many younger poets, particularly the Georgians, who saw him as a mentor.
