The Wolf-Leader, originally published in 1857 as Le Meneur de loups by Alexandre Dumas, is a dark fantasy novel that intertwines adventure with folklore. The story follows a young boy named Thibault as he navigates his interactions with wolves and the supernatural elements of his rustic life. Notably, this work reflects Dumas's childhood inspirations and includes themes of courage and nostalgia. The English translation by Alfred Allinson was first published in 1904, and the novel has since been adapted and serialized in various formats, including a run in Weird Tales magazine in the early 1930s.
