Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar

The fifth Tarzan adventure takes the Ape Man back to Opar, the lost city of ancient treasure where he once ruled as king. But this return nearly destroys him. A blow to the head erases his identity, leaving him wandering the jungle as a wild thing with no memory of Jane, his Waziri warriors, or even his own name. Meanwhile, La, the fierce high priestess of the Flaming God, has waited years for his return. She loves him and hates him in equal measure, and her obsession curdles into something dangerous when she finds him weak and amnesiac in the shadow of her temple. Beneath the city, Arab raiders led by the cunning Achmet Zek and the conflicted Lieutenant Werper hunt the legendary jewels of Opar, slaughtering the Waziri and kidnapping Jane. Tarzan must claw his way back to himself through blood and jungle darkness, or lose everything he loves to those who would plunder Africa's last forbidden city. It's pulp adventure at its most feverish: treasure, sacrifice, love turned to knives, and one man's struggle to remember who he is before the jungle claims him forever.
