The Day of Doom; Or, a Poetical Description of the Great and Last Judgment is a religious poem by Michael Wigglesworth, first published in 1662. This 17th-century work vividly depicts the Last Judgment, emphasizing themes of sin, redemption, and divine justice within the Puritan context. The poem portrays the sudden arrival of Christ as Judge, the panic of the unprepared, and the moral consequences of human actions, ultimately serving as a stark reminder of the fate awaiting the righteous and the wicked alike.
