Red Wallflower

Published in the 19th century, 'Red Wallflower' by Susan Warner tells the story of Esther, a motherless girl living in rural New England with her stern father and two servants. Her life changes when a neighbor introduces her to companionship and intellectual pursuits, but their bond is tested when he is sent away to college in England. The novel explores themes of loneliness, longing, and the search for joy as Esther matures into womanhood.
