Peveril of the Peak
Peveril of the Peak, written by Sir Walter Scott in 1822, is a historical novel that forms part of his Waverley series. Set in 1678 England, the story revolves around the Popish Plot and follows a Cavalier who falls in love with a Roundhead's daughter while being accused of conspiracy.
