Anne Severn and the Fieldings

Anne Severn arrives at the Fielding estate on the very day she buries her mother. The trains, the flowers, the adult faces blur together in her grief, but one thing cuts through: Jerrold Fielding, her childhood companion, waits for her in the garden. She cannot go to him.
