Anne of Geierstein, Volume 1
Anne of Geierstein, or The Maiden of the Mist, is a historical novel by Sir Walter Scott published in 1829. Set in Central Europe, primarily Switzerland, it takes place shortly after the Yorkist victory at the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471 and explores the Swiss involvement in the Burgundian Wars. The novel is notable for its vivid portrayal of the political and social dynamics of the era.
