A. H. Bullen

A. H. Bullen was an English playwright, editor, and critic, known for his significant contributions to the world of theatre and literature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was particularly recognized for his work in reviving interest in the plays of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, which had largely fallen into obscurity. Bullen's editorial efforts culminated in the publication of several important anthologies, including 'The Works of John Marston' and 'The Works of Thomas Middleton', which helped to bring these playwrights back into the public consciousness. His scholarship not only highlighted the richness of early English drama but also influenced contemporary playwrights and critics alike.
