Ojo expresses a yearning for adventure, leading them to visit the nearby Crooked Magician, Dr. Pipt. They learn that the magician is preparing the magical Powder of Life to animate the patchwork girl his wife has crafted. However, during the sprinkling of the powder, chaos ensues, resulting in Unc Nunkie and Dr. Pipt's wife being turned to marble.
