The Mystery of the Hasty Arrow

A young woman collapses in a museum gallery, an arrow piercing her heart. In the stunned silence that follows, an elderly woman is found huddled beside the body, shaking but silent. When Mr. Gryce, the aging detective long past his prime, begins pulling at the threads of this impossible murder, he discovers that everyone in the museum has something to hide. The arrow itself becomes a riddle: was it a murder weapon or something far stranger? Green builds her puzzle with the methodical precision of a Victorian master, layering witness interviews, alibis that unravel, and motives that multiply like cells. The result is a mystery that rewards patience and punishes assumption. What begins as a seemingly straightforward whodunit becomes a meditation on how truth hides in plain sight, and how the past always arrives to collect its debts.
