Lyra Frivola

Lyra Frivola, published in 1899 by A. D. Godley, is a collection of humorous verse that offers witty and satirical commentary on academia, society, and politics. The poems utilize various forms to critique contemporary issues, including journalism, education, and the British class system. Notable pieces like 'The Journalist Abroad' and 'Pedagogy' exemplify Godley's clever wordplay and light-hearted narratives, making the collection both entertaining and a valuable reflection of late 19th-century culture.
