Lodger

Lodger
In fog-shrouded Edwardian London, a killer stalks the streets. Young blondes are dying, their throats cut, and the city whispers of the Avenger, a murderer who seems to vanish into the darkness after each slaughter. Into this atmosphere of terror comes a quiet, distinguished stranger seeking a room in a Bloomsbury boarding house. He is polite, mysterious, arrives with no references, pays in cash, never goes out by day. Mrs. Bunting takes him in. Her daughter Daisy, a golden-haired model with ambitions of her own, finds herself drawn to the lodger in ways she cannot explain. But Daisy is also loved by Joe, a detective assigned to hunt the Avenger. And Joe does not trust this man who appears too perfect, too composed, too interested in the women who walk the fog-laden streets after dark. As the body count rises, the noose of suspicion tightens around the lodger. But here is the true horror: even as evidence mounts, Daisy cannot look away. The more danger he represents, the more she wants him.
