Island

The Island is a narrative poem by George Gordon, Lord Byron, written late in his career. It recounts the story of the mutiny aboard the HMS Bounty and the subsequent escape of the mutineers to a remote South Sea island, which they view as their 'guilt-won Paradise.' The poem explores themes of freedom, guilt, and the consequences of rebellion, reflecting Byron's interest in the complexities of human nature and morality.
