Every Man out of His Humour

Ben Jonson's ferocious 1599 comedy dissects a London where everyone is desperately performing a version of themselves they cannot afford to be. The play introduces Jonson's revolutionary 'humours' framework: each character embodies a single dominating trait that blinds them to their own absurdity.
