Enchanted Castle
Published in 1907, 'The Enchanted Castle' by E. Nesbit follows three children who, while stuck at school during the holidays, embark on an adventure that leads them to a seemingly magical castle. They encounter a 'princess' who is actually the housekeeper's niece, but soon discover that a magic ring she possesses is genuinely enchanted. This leads to a series of fantastical events involving living statues and granted wishes, exploring themes of imagination and the consequences of desire.
