Carolina Chansons: Legends of the Low Country

Carolina Chansons: Legends of the Low Country is a collection of poems by Hervey Allen, focusing on Charleston and the South Carolina Lowcountry. Written in collaboration with DuBose Heyward, a Charleston native known for his novel Porgy, this work reflects the cultural and historical essence of the region. Allen and Heyward also co-founded the Poetry Society of South Carolina, which continues to promote poetry today. The collection captures the spirit of Southern life and landscape through lyrical verse.
