Call Him Savage

In 1950s America, a reporter with Indigenous blood is summoned to the White House and told a spaceship has materialized in Colorado, cutting the state off from the rest of the nation. The President suspects invasion from a time-traveling Native American warrior named Lo-as-ro, who intends to reclaim the land for his people. Sam Quinlan, caught between two worlds as both a modern journalist and a man of mixed heritage, is sent to investigate. What he finds challenges everything he thought he knew about identity, history, and justice. This is pulpy, inventive alternate history that treats Indigenous return as literal science fiction. Sam must face robots, confront Lo-as-ro, and decide where his loyalties truly lie. The novel doesn't let anyone off the hook: not the government that stole the land, not the vengeful spirit seeking to undo centuries of injustice, and certainly not Sam, who must choose between the world that raised him and the ancestors he barely knows. For readers who want their science fiction to ask hard questions about who gets to belong in America.
