William Sime

William Sime was a distinguished South African-born English barrister and judge, whose multifaceted career also included a notable stint in first-class cricket. Educated at Bedford School and Balliol College, Oxford, he showcased his athletic prowess as a right-hand batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Sime played first-class cricket for the Minor Counties from 1929 to 1934 and represented Oxford University in 1931. His cricketing journey continued with Nottinghamshire from 1935 until 1950, where he ultimately captained the team during his final three years, leaving a mark on the sport in England.
