Two on the Trail: A Story of the Far Northwest

In the wilds of the Canadian Northwest, civilization is only a rumor and danger wears many faces. Garth Pevensey, a hardboiled New York reporter, leaves the city streets for territory unmapped by anything but courage. His journey begins in a remote roadhouse restaurant where he encounters Natalie, a woman whose poise matches the untamed landscape around her. Together, these two unlikely companions set out into a world of snow-choked passes, rugged frontiersmen, and the kind of frontier justice that asks no questions and takes no prisoners. Footner writes with the kinetic energy of a man who knew these lands firsthand, painting the Northwest as both beautiful and brutal. The romance simmers with the slow burn of classic adventure tales, building alongside the tension of survival in a world where a wrong turn means death. This is adventure fiction at its old-school best: action-driven, populated by vivid characters, and powered by the magnetic pull between two people discovering they need each other to survive.
