The Sealed Valley

Ralph Cowdray is a young doctor stationed at Fort Edward, a frontier settlement on the brink of transformation. The railway is coming, and with it, the death of the wild Canadian north as he knows it. Bored and restless, he jokes with his friend Dan that romance is extinct in this modernizing world, until the moment a beautiful Indian woman named Nahnya appears at his door, seeking help for her sick mother. Her arrival cracks open everything Ralph believed about his life. Drawn into the heart of the wilderness, he embarks on an expedition that will test his skills, his courage, and his heart. The sealed valley she leads him toward holds secrets, dangers, and a connection that transcends the cultural boundaries of his world. Footner crafts a rip-roaring adventure where a man searching for meaning finds it in the most unexpected place, and where the old north proves it still has stories left to tell.
