The White Prophet, Volume 1 (of 2)

Cairo, under British rule. The Empire commands the Nile, but beneath the polished surface of colonial authority, the city seethes with unspoken resentment. Gordon Lord wears two faces: a British officer bound by duty to the Crown, and a man whose blood carries Egyptian heritage. When a sham battle staged by British officers explodes into real violence, Cairenes see their humiliation made literal, and the fragile peace fractures. Enter Ishmael Ameer, a preacher whose magnetic pull draws the dispossested toward visions of renewal and resistance. As Gordon prepares to lead the mission that will arrest or kill this dangerous prophet of revolt, he faces an impossible calculus: loyalty to the empire that pays his commission, or to the people whose language he speaks in dreams. This is Volume One of a sweeping colonial drama that refuses easy answers, where every choice carries the weight of civilizations in collision.
