The Treasure Hunt of the S-18

Tim Murphy is a flying reporter, which means the sky is his newsroom and every airport is a potential story. When a man calling himself Mr. Seven disembarks from a transport plane with no passenger record, no identity, and no intention of being found, Murphy scents a story worth dying for. The trail leads from municipal airfields to Ace McDowell's flying circus, where a federal narcotics agent is already circling, warning that McDowell's operation runs darker than any barnstorming act. Smugglers, secrets, and a mystery man who leaves nothing behind but questions: Murphy dives into a conspiracy that promises treasure but delivers bullets. The S-18 holds something worth killing for, and every lead puts Murphy closer to answers and further from safe ground. Published in 1934, when aviation still felt miraculous and pulp fiction ruled newsstands, this is vintage adventure: fast planes, faster dialogue, and a reporter who won't stop asking questions even when the answers turn deadly. For readers who want their thrills with a side of nostalgia, who miss the era when heroes solved problems with guts and a biplane.
