Slim Evans and His Horse Lightning

The July heat presses down on the Cajons as cowboy Slim Evans reads a letter that will change everything. His friend needs help. Trouble is brewing in the valley below, and the cattle rustlers are getting bolder. With only his trusted sorrel mare Lightning at his side, Slim rides into a world where loyalty is tested in gunfights and the line between justice and revenge blurs in the dust. What follows is pure frontier adventure. When gunfire cracks across the evening air, Slim doesn't hesitate. He rides toward the sound because that's what men like him do. The narrow mountain passes widen into open range where a man's word means everything and rustlers' shadows stretch long across the scrubland. This is the West in its raw, elemental form: hot days, dangerous nights, and a solitary rider guided by nothing but his own sense of what's right. The story endures because it captures what readers have always loved about the Western: moral clarity forged in difficult circumstances, the unshakeable bond between a cowboy and his horse, and the quiet courage of a man who asks for no thanks. For anyone who believes the best stories happen under open skies.
