The Snow-Burner
A disillusioned drifter wakes in a frozen frontier saloon with no memory of how he arrived, his pockets empty and his future undefined. This is Rail Head, a town on the edge of nowhere, where the only work worth having is at the Cameron Dam - a brutal labor camp run by the man they call the Snow-Burner. Toppy Treplin has no reason to care about anyone, until he sees Miss Pearson, a young woman who has braved the killing cold to take a job at the dam - a place where men disappear and Reivers rules with violence and fear. What begins as aimless attraction becomes something more: a reason to stay, to fight, to choose a side. The Snow-Burner is a stark, unsentimental portrait of frontier cruelty - a world where labor is exploitation, power is violence, and love is the most dangerous thing a man can afford to feel.
