The Small Bachelor
In Prohibition-era New York, the hapless artist George Finch, recently flush with inheritance but utterly devoid of talent, finds himself in a pickle. He's proposed to the lovely Molly Waddington, only to discover her formidable mother has grander, more aristocratic plans for her daughter's future. George's quest to prove his worth as a husband involves navigating a labyrinth of social hurdles, disapproving parents, and a cast of eccentric characters, including a poetry-loving policeman, a self-help guru obsessed with a fortune teller, and a reformed convict with a soft spot for a lady pickpocket. It's a delightful scramble for love, Wodehouse-style, where every good intention paves the way to glorious comedic chaos.
