The Redemption of David Corson

In the tranquil valleys of mid-19th century Ohio, young David Corson lives between two worlds: the pastoral simplicity of his Quaker community and the mysterious realm of divine visions that visit him in moonlit meadows. When a curious boy named Stephen begins following the mystic through the fields, drawn to the strange light in David's eyes, he witnesses something that will shape both their lives. David possesses gifts that set him apart, visions that promise communion with the divine but also draw the attention of forces both within and beyond his community. As temptation approaches from unexpected directions and external influences threaten the peace of his valley, David must choose between the comfortable silence of his faith and the terrifying responsibility of his visions. Goss writes with luminous prose about spiritual longing, capturing the particular ache of a young man who sees too much and feels too deeply for the quiet life his neighbors lead. This is a story about what happens when the sacred meets the ordinary, and whether innocence can survive its encounter with the world's shadowed corners.
