The Portland Peerage Romance

This is the saga of the Bentinck family, whose name became synonymous with loyalty, political intrigue, and romantic devotion in the corridors of English power. At its heart stands Hans William Bentinck, the first of his line, whose steadfast devotion to William of Orange during the Glorious Revolution of 1688 would forge a legacy that stretched across generations. The novel opens at Welbeck Abbey, where the Duke and Duchess of Portland embody the height of noble grace, and traces the remarkable journey of a family whose fortunes became intertwined with the fate of nations. Through political upheaval and personal drama, Archard weaves a tale of duty versus desire, of honor tested by ambition, and of love that transcends the calculated marriages of the aristocracy. For readers who savor the sweep of family sagas and the intimate dramas hidden behind aristocratic facades.
