The Motor Maids' School Days

In 1911, a girl arrives at West Haven High School in her own motor car, and everything changes. Wilhelmina "Billie" Campbell isn't just new she's a sensation, rolling up in an automobile while her classmates walk or take horse-drawn trolleys. But fame is fickle, and soon Billie finds herself caught in the treacherous waters of high school social politics, particularly the snobbish Mystic Seven, led by the formidable Belle Rogers. Her old friends feel distant, her new status uncertain, and the whispers start: is she too proud, too different, too much? Then comes the adventure that transforms everything. A carjacking, a robbery, a thrilling chase through streets that have never seen girls like this. Billie and her unlikely allies must act fast, proving that courage matters more than cliques, and that loyalty can bridge even the widest gaps. The motor car isn't just transportation it's a statement of independence in a world that hasn't decided if it wants girls to have any. A delightful period piece that captures the excitement of early automobile culture alongside timeless questions of belonging. For readers who love vintage school stories with an edge of adventure, or anyone curious about what it meant to be a modern girl a century ago.
